Ingrédients

Pasta
  • 6 ounces Egg Noodles Cook according to package directions.
Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Use lean beef for less grease.
  • ¼ cup Butter For making the roux.
  • ¼ cup Flour To thicken the sauce.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 ¼ cup Milk For a creamy texture.
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Sour Cream Adds creaminess and tang.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions. Once cooked, set aside.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until fully browned (about 6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat and transfer beef to a plate.
Making the Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the flour and whisk for about 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually pour in the beef broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Keep whisking until the sauce thickens (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring until the sauce thickens again (about 5-7 minutes). It should be smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt, ensuring seasonings are evenly distributed.
Combining and Serving
  1. Reduce heat to low. Add the cooked egg noodles and browned ground beef to the skillet. Stir until well combined and heated.
  2. Gently stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated and serve hot.

Notes

For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat with a splash of milk to restore creamy texture. Consider using ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
