Ingrédients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless pork chops
  • 1 large onion, sliced very thin
  • 1 medium honeycrisp apple, thin slices
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary (optional)
  • 3 leaves fresh sage (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper. Set them aside.
  2. In a large skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the apple slices to the onions and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
Cooking
  1. Push the onion and apple mix to the side, then place the pork chops in the skillet.
  2. Spread the apple butter over the chops, drizzle on the water and whole grain mustard.
  3. If using, toss in the rosemary and sage leaves for an aromatic touch.
  4. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, flipping the chops halfway, until they’re cooked through and saucy.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious aroma wafting through your kitchen!

Notes

These pork chops are fantastic for leftovers! Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days. Want to save them for later? Freeze them for up to 3 months. Just reheat gently in the microwave or a skillet to keep them juicy. Timing is everything: flip the chops halfway through cooking for even sauciness.
