Preparation
- Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper. Set them aside.
- In a large skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the apple slices to the onions and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
Cooking
- Push the onion and apple mix to the side, then place the pork chops in the skillet.
- Spread the apple butter over the chops, drizzle on the water and whole grain mustard.
- If using, toss in the rosemary and sage leaves for an aromatic touch.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, flipping the chops halfway, until they’re cooked through and saucy.
- Serve hot and enjoy the delicious aroma wafting through your kitchen!
Notes
These pork chops are fantastic for leftovers! Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days. Want to save them for later? Freeze them for up to 3 months. Just reheat gently in the microwave or a skillet to keep them juicy. Timing is everything: flip the chops halfway through cooking for even sauciness.
